I have to admit something embarrassing: I've been hunting for my upcoming birthday present. Yes, we have reached that point in the relationship between my husband and I that I have to pick out my gift and LOUDLY drop hints. Otherwise I really am rolling the dice with what I'll get. Another point being that I am incredibly controlling and picky, which I know does not make me an ideal present recipient. Even my friends make fun of me that I threw my own baby shower and told people what I wanted/needed. I just figure it's hard to enough trying to find the right gift that I would prefer to be told what you want so you don't have to break out the "oh, I really love it" fake-face. I have mastered that face and to this day my family wonders every time they give me something whether or not I really like it.
So in poking around I have narrowed down my birthday choice to jewelry. I am constantly on the hunt for the perfect pair of hoop earrings and simple bangle bracelets, just as some women hunt for the perfect pair of jeans. I am a minimalist when it comes to jewelry, not because I don't like jewelry, but most of all because I am not an expert in wearing it. So when I stumbled upon
Kris Nations website, it was like she had read my mind: simple, elegant pieces that you could wear both everyday or on special occasions. Celebrities and tv-shows have been snapping up her pieces like wildfire and I can totally understand why. My favorite element of her work has to be the fact that she uses recycled gold and silver in her pieces, which means that I'm buying an environmentally sensitive piece as well. Or shall I say my husband is buying them for me.! I just have to figure out how many holiday/birthdays I can create so that I can justify purchasing more pieces!
Thank god for women LOUDLY dropping hints... We would be absolutely lost without them!
Yo have spared your husband of many pointless hours, and yourself from getting a lawn mower... :)
