Here I am again obsessing about our new house which is only weeks away. Before I go to sleep, I pick a room to dream about, and go from there. Lately it's been the playroom for Toddler Shuka ("no more Baby Shuka please" she says) - which is incredibly important given the amount of time we end up spending inside because the weather is usually less than favorable 9 months out of the year.
Storage - that's all I keep thinking. I'm tired tired tired of piles of toys creeping in every corner in our house. It seems like we can't contain the amount of toys we have in the pitiful boxes and bags we have. My idea is to create a nice cubby/cube system where every toy group has it's own space, as I think organized toy spaces will teach our daughter about organization, taking pride/care of your things, and well, make things more organized! A few months ago I found these storage sets from Way Basics which I am LOVING: they are cubes and storage boxes made from recycled paper (they call it Zboard), are super sturdy, which makes me think that they would be perfect also for climbing on! Best of all they come in an array of colors so once I decide on the color scheme for the room, I can mix and match at will. I love that you can really customize a set all your own, and even though you have to built it yourself, it's only 5 sides, so how hard can it be? Loving the concept behind Way Basics being super green, super clean, and super organized: I never thought getting organized could be this satisfying or this eco-friendly!
