I'm making a Monday exception and instead of writing about my Obsession of the Week, I'm going to share with you some great (last-minute for those of us, eh-hem, that are on a time crunch) V-day ideas. Yes, none of them are mine (surprise surprise!) but I intend to try my hand at most of them in hopes that in the end someone will feel the love and at least appreciate my effort.
If you love the look of handmade cards, and would like the kids to make some for their friends, this is a great alternative to store-bought. You could use some old pics and I just know there is not a child alive that could resist a glitter/glue combo.
Leave it to none other than the reigning Green King himself Danny Seo to make those horrid perfume pages in magazines cool and chic. Skip the trashy bouquet at the 24 hour store on the corner, and whip up a batch of Perfume Flowers with the kids as you rummage through your old Vogue and In Style mags.
Of course, the only part of Valentine's Day that I really like is that dinner part. Now that we are a plus one family though, that means we're dining a la trois. No problem, I'll whip up a nice dinner, and make these delicious looking Peanut Butter Bonbons. Even though we're in a Triscuit-free country, I plan on making these babies with none other than my fall-back item: matzah. Oy yeah.
